Small Plane Crashes Near Airport in Llano

A Cessna plane crashed shortly after take-off Sunday afternoon in Llano. Just after 1:30pm on July 3rd , personnel from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to 34800 block of Largo Vista Road, Llano, after a report of a plane crash.

When deputies arrived, Los Angeles County Fire Department was on scene tending to the adult occupants whom were able to exit the airplane safely.  

Interviews with the pilot and passengers indicated the plane was taking off from the runway and reached between 40-50 knots and about 25’-30’ in altitude, when the plane suddenly stalled, flipped backward, and fell into an orchard. The occupants were able to exit through the doors and windshield before the plane caught fire and burned completely.

All occupants, who were from the northern California area, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening to minor injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
