SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Personal Injury Crash

Montcalm County deputies responded to a two car personal injury accident on 07-01-2016. At approximately 1552 hours, a 2005 Buick Terraza van, driven by SAYDEE JO ROWLAND, a 19 year old Sheridan resident, was Southbound on North Neff Road. ROWLAND pulled out into the path of an Eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by ASHLEE ELIZABETH GIBSON, a 31 year old Elwell resident. The vehicle driven by GIBSON struck the passenger side of the vehicle driven by ROLLAND, sending the van into the ditch on the east side of the roadway.

Also, in the vehicle with GIBSON, were three small children. GIBSON and the children were transported by Montcalm Emergency Services to Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma for non-life threatening injuries.

Multiple airbags were deployed. Seatbelts and child restraints were in use.

It does not appear that alcohol was a factor in this accident.

ROLLAND was cited on scene for failure to yield traffic.

Assisting at the scene were Montcalm Emergency Services, Montcalm County Rescue, and Day Township Fire.

The crash remains under investigation.
