THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
EAST AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS
FAR WEST-CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI
FAR NORTH-CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA
* EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 215 AM UNTIL 900 AM CDT.
* PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE
ISOLATED LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
SUMMARY...A LINE OF STORMS WILL ADVANCE TO THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST FROM CENTRAL INTO EAST AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS...PORTIONS OF WEST AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...AND NORTH-CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA DURING THE OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY THIS MORNING. DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY SEVERE HAZARDS...THOUGH HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE AS WELL.
THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF JOPLIN MISSOURI TO 25 MILES NORTH OF WICHITA KANSAS.
