HMPD Officers arrest three for Felony Larceny.
On Thursday, July 7, 2016 at approximately 7:30am, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to a residence in the 3900 block of Colorado Drive in reference to a larceny. Upon the arrival of the Officers, the victim told them that when he went outside he noticed that lawn care equipment had been stolen off of his utility trailer. Later that same morning, an Officer was patrolling through a parking lot on North Main Street when he saw a pickup truck that had lawn equipment in it’s bed that appeared to be the lawn equipment that was stolen from Colorado Drive. The Officer conducted a traffic stop on the pickup truck and further investigation revealed that the lawn equipment the Officer observed was in fact the equipment that was stolen from the residence on Colorado Drive. At that time, Officers arrested the occupants of the pickup truck who were identified as Joel Matthew Jones, 29, of the 5900 block of Hunting Ridge Road, Hope Mills, James Anthony Gautier, 31 of the 7600 block of Fire Department Road, Hope Mills, and Ilse Marie Brewington, 28, of the 5800 block of Nicolet Drive in Hope Mills. All of the subjects were transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center for the following charges:
