LAAPOA Statement on the Dallas Shooting
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association sends it condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the five officers killed and the officers injured in the Dallas shooting on Thursday.
What happened in Dallas underscores how difficult it has become to be a law enforcement officer in the United States. As a majority minority police department, the killings of five police officers in Dallas simply for being white and for being a police officer is a reminder of the ugly racism that still exists in our nation. In the aftermath of this horrific tragedy, we remain committed to working with our elected officials as well as the community in working towards a real solution in this national conversation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Dallas Police Department and Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department and their families.
