Crime Report for June 16TH, 2016 thru June 30th, 2016.

06/23/2016- 5000 Block of Oak Ravine Ct- Identity Theft- The victim received an overdue collections notice for cable service on an account from 2014 and it was located in Colorado. The case was turned over to the cable company for follow up.
06/23/2016- 1000 Block of Six Mile Rd- Larceny From Auto- The victim reports that someone entered her vehicle and removed credit cards and debit cards from her purse. The cards were used in South Lyon. The case is currently under investigation by our department along with the South Lyon Police Department.
06/23/2016- 1000 Block of St Andrews Ct- Identity Theft- The victim reports two accounts opened in their name. Both accounts were opened out of state. The case is currently under investigation.
06/24/2016- 6000 Block of Whitmore Lake Rd- Larceny From Auto- The construction trailer for CA Hull was broken into and several valuable tools were taken from inside. There is currently no suspects or evidence. The case remains under investigation.
06/30/2016- 6000 Block of Hellner Rd- Identity Theft- The victim reports receiving notice from the IRS that someone had used their name and social security number to file a 2015 tax return. The case was turned over to the IRS for follow up investigation.
During the month of June the Northfield Township Police Officers responded to 409 calls for service and the year to date total of arrests made is 62.
Crime Prevention Tip
All Citizens are reminded to make sure vehicles and garages/sheds are secure, especially at night. Do not make your property easy targets for would be criminals. If an officer is on patrol and sees your vehicle or garage/shed open you may get a “green tag” that says officers noticed your vulnerability. This is a gentle reminder to secure your property.
