Suicidal subject with a loaded pistol safely taken in to custody
On Tuesday night, around 10:20pm, a deputy from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department recognized a vehicle from an earlier call for a subject making suicidal threats. The subject was reported to be armed with a gun. The vehicle was in the Sequoia Market parking lot, on Gravenstein Hwy South. After a call for backup was made, Sebastopol Reserve Officer Andrews and Officer Fenske responded to assist.
Once sufficient units were on scene, the deputy was able to gain compliance from the subject, having him exit the vehicle, and he was taken in to custody. A loaded pistol was found on the front seat of the vehicle.
Thanks to the work of all involved, and the compliance of the subject, no force was needed to take the subject in to custody and retrieve the loaded pistol.
