...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT WEDNESDAY... ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 7 PM CDT SATURDAY... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 7 PM CDT SATURDAY.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 90S THIS AFTERNOON...INCREASING INTO THE UPPER 90S ON WEDNESDAY. TEMPERATURES MAY REACH THE CENTURY MARK ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE AREA BOTH THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.

* HEAT INDICES...RANGING FROM 100 TO 110 DEGREES EACH AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF VERY WARM TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL LEAD TO OPPRESSIVE CONDITIONS WHICH COULD QUICKLY LEAD TO HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES.
