HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT /1 PM CDT/ THISAFTERNOON TO 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ SATURDAY...
HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
* TEMPERATURES...HIGHS IN THE UPPER 80S TO MID 90S TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY. LOWS IN THE 70S WILL PROVIDE LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE HUMIDITY AT NIGHT.
* MAXIMUM AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES...NEAR 100 DEGREES TODAY... 100 TO 107 DEGREES FRIDAY...AND NEAR 100 DEGREES ON SATURDAY.
* DANGEROUS HEAT AND HUMIDITY MAY CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES FOR PEOPLE WITH PROLONGED OUTDOOR EXPOSURE...OR WITHOUT ACCESS TO AIR CONDITIONING. THE ELDERLY...SMALL CHILDREN...AND PETS ARE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE HEAT.
A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE.
