It’s HOT! Canyon Park and Hillside Wilderness Preserve CLOSED Friday & Saturday due to extreme heat!
An excessive heat watch was put out by the National Weather Service from Friday, July 22, 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, July 23, 8:00 p.m. There will be dangerous heat possible for the Los Angeles County areas resulting in temperatures reaching triple digits across most valleys and lower mountain elevations. Highs will range from 100 to 110 degrees and there will be only modest relief at night. There will be the potential for heat stress including heat exhaustion and possibly heat stroke during the daytime hours since there is no moisture and low humidity associated with this heat event.
Due to these dangerous conditions and extreme fire danger, both Canyon Park and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve will be CLOSED on Friday, July 22, 2016 and Saturday, July 23, 2016.
