Trooper Brock Russell is Laterally Promoted to a Detective
On Monday, State Police Superintendent Doug Carter announced the lateral promotion of Trooper Brock Russell to the rank of Trooper Detective where he will serve as District Investigative Officer. Russell was selected after competing in a stringent written and oral interview process. In this new capacity, Russell will work mostly criminal investigations and assist road troopers, other detectives, and local agencies in ongoing investigations.
Russell graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy in 2006. He was assigned to the Lafayette Post and patrolled mostly White and Carroll Counties. While working the road, he was a Field Training Officer and a member of the Tactical Intervention Team (T.I.P.). In 2009, he was assigned to the Meth Suppression Section and coordinator at the Lafayette Post. Russell was promoted to Crime Scene Investigator and served in that position till 2015 when he was temporarily assigned as a criminal investigator until he was promoted to the position on Monday.
Trooper Detective Brock Russell lives in Tippecanoe County with his family.
