With extreme heat advisories expected to last throughout the weekend, coupled with the Sand Fire in Santa Clarita, the San Fernando Police Department is urging residents to take extra precautions. Police are asking residents to remain indoors in areas with air conditioning or fans and to avoid outdoor activities. Residents are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids to remain hydrated and keep children and pets indoors. Also, please check on elderly or disabled neighbors to ensure their well-being.
