An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until 6 PM Monday for Mercer, Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties. A Heat Advisory is posted for Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union Counties from noon to 8 PM, and for the rest of NJ from 11 AM to 6 PM today. Heat index values may range between 100° and 105° statewide. Thunderstorms are forecast today with totals of 0.25” to 0.5” possible.

The excessive heat continues statewide today. Take precautions to prevent heat stress for the elderly, children, people who work outside and pets. Timing for thunderstorms today is late afternoon into evening, although some areas have received rain this morning
