Rear End Crash on I-70 Injures One
Clay County—On Sunday afternoon (yesterday) at 3:38, Indiana State Police and Clay County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 16.5 mile marker.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2000 Ford van, driven by 48-year-old Daniel A. Cartwright, of Brownsburg, IN. was westbound and refused to slow for slower traffic merging into a single lane. Cartwright’s van then struck the rear of a 2015 Toyota van driven by 34-year-old Kenneth Frith of Colorado Springs, CO.
Kenneth Frith was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment of suspected back fracture. Daniel Cartwright refused medical treatment at the scene.
The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Ted Robertson. Assisting were Posey Township Fire/Rescue and CARE ambulance.
