Wanted Driver Eludes Police Public Help Sought
Sullivan County—This afternoon at 5:06, Indiana State Police Trooper Brad Miller saw a Mitsubishi Eclipse northbound on US 41 near State Road 48 and noticed the driver was 25-year-old Dakota Ray Montgomery of Farmersburg. Trooper Miller had knowledge that Montgomery was wanted on a Sullivan County warrant for a probation violation and attempted to stop Montgomery. A pursuit ensued from US 41 and SR 48 to the area near Sullivan County roads 950 North and 300 East where Montgomery fled on foot from the vehicle.
Multiple Troopers, Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies, K-9 units from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Jasonville Police Department, and the Vigo County Emergency Management Agency with the use of a drone, all searched for Montgomery until approximately 9:25p.m. before calling off the manhunt.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Dakota Ray Montgomery are urged to call the Indiana State Police at 765.653.4114 or the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office at 812.268.4044 or your local police.
Criminal charges are pending for today’s actions.
A picture of Montgomery is attached.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
