Car Sideswipes Pickup Truck

Tippecanoe County-This morning at around 4:00 a.m. on I-65 nourthbound near the 168 mile marker (that is at the SR38/168 exit), troopers responded to a two vehicle crash that sent one driver to jail.

Preliminary investigation by Sergeant Mike Krueger has revealed that a gold 1993 Acura Legend driven by William C. Snow, 20 of Crawfordsville was northbound and a red 2010 Toyota Tundra driven by Andrew R. Heitzman, 35 of Noblesville had just entered the interstate from a center construction area. Snow allegedly failed to see the Toyota in front of him and struck the pickup in the passenger side of the vehicle from the rear bumper to the front fender. Snow’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway where it came to rest down the embankment into the ditch.

Snow received minor injuries to his nose and abrasions on his knees. He was transported to Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette where he was treated and released. No one was injured in the Toyota.

During the investigation of the crash, evidence was obtained that Snow had been consuming alcohol. A blood test was given and the final results are pending. Snow has been arrested and charged with:
• Illegal Consumption of Alcohol
• Reckless Driving with Construction Workers Present
• Operating While Intoxicated Above .15%
• Operating While Intoxicated While Endangering Lives
• Reckless Driving While Endangering Lives

All charges are Misdemeanor charges. Snow has been lodged in the Tippecanoe County Jail after he was released from the hospital. The investigation is continuing. Assisting at the scene were TroopersThomas Manning and Jared McQueary, Jim’s Wrecker Service, Tippecanoe County EMS and INDOT. I have no pictures.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
