THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... SOUTHWESTERN NOBLE COUNTY IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA... CENTRAL PAYNE COUNTY IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA...

* UNTIL 900 PM CDT

* AT 602 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. UP TO ONE AND A HALF TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN. FLASH FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE... STILLWATER...PERRY...LAKE MCMURTRY AND LAKE CARL BLACKWELL. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NOBLE ... PAYNE

Instructions:

TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
