Head On Crash Claims Life of Greensburg Man
Ripley County-This afternoon, at approximately 3:24 pm, the Indiana State Police responded to a two vehicle crash on US 421 near County Road 750 North, near Napoleon, that claimed the life of a Greensburg man.
The initial investigation by Trooper Kyle Black indicates that a 1998 Dodge minivan being driven by William Minch Jr, age 30, Greensburg, Indiana was traveling northbound on US 421. For an unknown reason, Minch’s vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a southbound 2013 Kenworth tractor trailer being driven by John Hobbs, age 39, Connersville, Indiana. Both vehicle collided nearly head on and both came to rest in the roadway.
As a result of the crash, Minch sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ripley County Coroner’s Office. Hobbs was uninjured in the crash. US 421 was closed for over three hours for investigation and cleanup.
The Minch family has been notified.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
