Child Passenger Car Seat Event
Every year, hundreds of children are either killed or seriously injured in motor vehicle collisions. Studies have shown child safety seats can reduce fatal injury by 72% for infants and by 54% for toddlers, ages 1-4.
In an effort to reduce these fatalities, the CHP will be offering a free Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Seat check-up event. The goal of this event will be to educate parents on the proper installation and use of child passenger seats. The CHP will have certified technicians/officers inspecting child seats and offering traffic safety information.
