Man arrested for break-ins.
In July of 2016, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the 2800 block of Rosemeade Drive and the 2800 block of Chillingsworth Drive in reference to residential break-ins. On both occasions, Officers found that the suspect had left the area prior to the their arrival and, the cases were forwarded to the Hope Mills Police Department Detective Division for further investigation. During the course of their investigation, Detectives found that James Edward Taylor III, 22, of the 5700 block of Aftonshire Drive, Fayetteville, was responsible for committing the break-ins. Detectives also found that Taylor had committed break-ins in other jurisdictions as well. On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, Taylor was taken into custody with the assistance of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $15,000.00 bond for the following charges:
2 counts of Felony Breaking and Entering
2 counts of Felony Larceny
2 counts of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
This investigation is ongoing and, more charges against Mr. Taylor are likely.
