Montgomery County- Yesterday, August 8, 2016 at approximately 10:56 a.m., on Interstate 74 (EB) at the 40 mile marker ( just east of Crawfordsville, IN) a one vehicle motorcycle crash occurred resulting in one fatality. Preliminary investigation by Trooper Alaina Zloty revealed that Robert W Lake, 64, of Hamilton, OH was operating a Blue 1998 Harley Davidson on Interstate 74 (EB) at the 40 mile marker in the right hand lane.  Diane L. Hospital. Family has been notified.  Helmets were not in use at the time of the crash. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.  Montgomery County Sheriffs Department and the Crawfordsville Fire and Ambulance Service assisted in the investigation. Interstate 74 was closed for approximately one hour due to the crash.
