LAKE LURE OLYMPIAD THIS WEEKEND – TRAFFIC NOTICE

Lake Lure will be busy this weekend with their Annual Lake Lure Olympiad with bikers, swimmers and runners competing in various races.
Below are a list of dates and roadways that may have temporary closures during this weekend (Aug 12th thru 14th)
Fri 8/12 – 0700pm – 0830pm Temporary closures for 10K Run – from Ingles (Hwy 9) to Memorial Hwy to Buffalo Shoals to Buffalo Creek into Resort on Buffalo Creek. There will be First Responders directing traffic through these areas as runners move through.
Sat 8/13 – 0800am – 1100am Temporary closures for Triathlon – Sections of Buffalo Shoals, Bills Creek, Buffalo Creek, Cedar Creek Rd., and Conner Rd. There will be First Responders directing traffic through these areas as runners move through.
Sun 8/14 – 0700am - 1000am – Temporary closures for Race to the Rock – Memorial Hwy Chimney Rock in front of Best View Hotel to Chimney Rock State Park entrance briefly closed (0730am) while bikers begin their race from Memorial to Bill’s Creek, to Buffalo Creek, to Buffalo Shoals, to Memorial back to park entrance and traveling up to CRSP upper parking area. (0745) runners will line up on Memorial Hwy in front of Best View Hotel running to CRSP entrance and up to upper parking. There will be First Responders directing traffic through these areas as runners move through.
