An afternoon thunderstorm has caused power outages throughout much of Rocky River, causing traffic back-ups and a partial road closure. Please avoid vehicular travel if possible until power is restored.
Detroit Rd. between Interstate-90 and Clague Rd. is partially blocked by a downed tree. Police are on scene and working to clear the roadway in a timely manner. Please avoid the area.
If traveling by vehicle, remember that Ohio law requires that intersections with traffic signals that are not operational be treated as an all-way stop. Please stop at all intersections and proceed only when safe to do so.
If a downed wire or power loss is creating an emergency situation, e.g., a live wire, medical equipment that requires electricity, a tree down causing injury or risk of injury, please call 911.
The Illuminating company is aware of the outages. The Rocky River Police do not have information about when power will be restored. Please contact The Illuminating Company (800-589-3101) or other effected utility directly to report outages and downed lines that are not creating an immediate hazard.
