Texas Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, announced the sentencing of Michael J. Nathman, age 24, of Fort Worth, TX.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “Mr. Nathman pled guilty to first degree sexual assault, second degree sexual assault and criminal sexual contact and was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Angela F. Borkowski, JSC, to fifteen years in state prison with no possibility of parole. Mr. Nathman will also be required to register as a sex offender and will remain under parole supervision for life.”
The joint investigation by detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and the State Police Perryville barracks led to Mr. Nathman’s arrest and charges in December 2015. Mr. Nathman was apprehended by the Fort Worth Police Department Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force near his residence in Fort Worth. The crimes occurred in Bethlehem Township between May 2015 and November 2015. Mr. Nathman has remained incarcerated at the Somerset County Jail since his extradition back to New Jersey in December 2016.
Prosecutor Kearns added, “I would like to commend the law enforcement officers and detectives from the New Jersey State Police Perryville Barracks and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office investigative staff for the thorough and extensive investigation that led to the arrest and conviction of Mr. Nathman. I would also like to thank Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Daniels for her outstanding efforts in this case. The successful prosecution of these heinous crimes has helped to take a predator off our streets. While we are pleased with the sentence imposed by Judge Borkowski, we realize that it does not diminish the trauma imposed on the victim’s and their families.”
