Burglary Suspects Captured in Woodway
This morning at approximately 8:15am, one of our newest officers was on patrol and noticed a suspicious vehicle leaving a residential area of our neighborhood around Sante Fe and Texas Central. The officer performed a routine license plate check and determined that the vehicle (a red 2000 Ford Explorer) was stolen from Bellmead. The stop was made and two individuals were taken into custody. They are identified as a white female Maria Susana Carreon and a white male Ulyssis Lopez. Lopez was charged with Possession of Firearm by a felon, Theft of Firearm, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle. Carreon was charged with Possession of Firearm by a felon, Theft of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Use of Motor vehicle.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the occupants were in possession of other stolen property taken from a BMV earlier in the day in Waco. A handgun and other stolen items were recovered. Another vehicle (a green 2002 Chevrolet Suburban) also possibly used in the criminal activities of the morning was located near the stop and taken as evidence. If you are familiar with these suspects and vehicle and know of their whereabouts this morning, please contact WPSD at 2547724470. Investigation is still under way.
