POP UNIT ARRESTS EIGHT IN PROBATION SWEEP
On Sunday, August 14, 2016, members of the Anderson Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) conducted a series of probation compliance checks in the City of Anderson. The sweep targeted known offenders on felony probation or Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS/AB109) with the Shasta County Probation Department.
A total of four locations were visited with about twenty five subjects being contacted between all four locations. As a result of the contacts eight subjects were placed under arrest and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
At one of the residences three children were found living in unsanitary living conditions that included broken glass left on the floor, marijuana stored where a child had access, and methamphetamine paraphernalia found in a purse on one of the children’s beds. The three children were placed into protective custody and released into the care of Shasta County Child and Family services.
The following subjects were arrested during the sweep:
Melissa Odom, age 28, of Anderson was arrested for child endangerment and a violation of probation.
Tanya Horn, 26, of Anderson was arrested for child endangerment.
Calvin Richison, age 22, of Anderson was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for a violation of his PRCS probation.
Michael Carpenter, age 43, of Anderson was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and a violation of probation.
Jeffrey Delello, age 33, of Anderson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a violation of his supervised release from custody.
Shannon Elsemore, age 30, of Anderson, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jerry Applegate, age 58, of Anderson, was arrested for a violation of probation.
Benson Hodges, age 57, of Milville, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
All four of the residences were found to have some type of evidence of drug use; including methamphetamine, heroin, pipes, and/or syringes.
