The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be conducting repairs on the railroad crossing on US-12 / W. Chicago Road starting Monday, August 15^th.  The work will close US-12 to thru traffic east of Jacob Street and west of Jefferson Street for the duration of construction.

Construction and closure of the road is expected to run from Monday, August 15^th to Saturday, August 20^th.  Actual closure time will be dependent on weather conditions and construction progress.

 A detour route will be set up for thru traffic on US-12.  US-12 east of Jacob Street will be open to local business traffic during the project.  Detour routes are as follows:

• North-bound traffic from the south or west:  North Centerville Road to West Lafayette, N. Clay, and Memorial Drive before re-merging with M-66 / North Nottawa.
• North-bound traffic from the east: US-12 open to M-66 / North Nottawa.
• East-bound traffic from the south: E. Fawn River Road to Franks Avenue, Franks Avenue back to US-12 / East Chicago Road.
• East-bound traffic from the west: S. Centerville Road to East Fawn River Road, East Fawn River Road to Franks Avenue, Franks Avenue back to US-12 / East Chicago Road. 
• South-bound traffic from the north: Memorial Drive to North Clay, North Clay to West Lafayette, West Lafayette to North Centerville, running into M-66 / South Centerville.
• South-bound traffic from the east:  Franks Avenue to East Fawn River Road, East Fawn River Road to M-66 / South Centerville.
• West-bound traffic from the north:  Memorial Drive to North Clay, North Clay to West Lafayette, West Lafayette to North Centerville, North Centerville to US-12 / W. Chicago Road.
• West-bound traffic from the east:  Franks Avenue to East Fawn River Road, East Fawn River Road to M-66 / South Centerville, South Centerville to US-12 / W. Chicago Road.
