Madison County- This morning around 9:30 a.m., Master Trooper Ron Huff pulled up to a two vehicle crash on SR 13 near I-69, where he found a 2003 Dodge Durango had struck a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado.  Master Trooper Huff also advised that the driver of the 2003 Dodge Durango had fled the scene.

Preliminary investigation by Master Trooper Huff indicates the 2003 Dodge Durango, driven by Christopher Clouse, of New Castle, IN, was southbound off of I-69 and ran the stop sign at SR 13, striking the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Frederick Gray, of Martinsville, IN.  After the crash, Christopher Clouse fled the scene, running into a nearby wooded area.

Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Kendrick Donald and his K-9 partner, Murtaugh, arrived on scene a short time later and began searching for Clouse.  Around 10:36 a.m., Senior Trooper Donald and K-9 Murtaugh found Clouse in the woods, a short distance away from the crash scene.

Christopher Clouse was charged with Operating a vehicle while never being licensed and leaving the scene of a crash, both Misdemeanors.  He also had a warrant out of Henry County for Failure to Appear for Operating a vehicle while never being licensed, which is a Misdemeanor and a Felony warrant for violation of probation for Conspiracy to Sell Heroin.  He was transported to the Henry County Jail, where he was lodged for the warrants.

Indiana State Police were assisted at the scene by Madison County Sheriff's Department; Ingalls Police Department; Lapel Police Department; and Pendleton EMS. 

All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.
