Murder and Attempt Murder in the Mission Area

 

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide Division is requesting the public’s assistance in obtaining information to identify the suspect(s) involved in the murder of John Christopher Rickman and the attempt murder of Michael Campa.

 

On August 15, 2016, during the early morning hours, Mission Division officers responded to the 14700 block of Oro Grande Street for a “shots fired” call.  When the officers arrived they found a car that had been involved in a traffic collision in the 12400 block of Ralston Avenue.  The driver, later identified as John Christopher Rickman, and sole occupant of the vehicle was found unconscious in the driver's seat.  Officers discovered that the driver had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

 

A second victim, later identified as Michael Campa, was discovered in the 12600 block of Bradley Avenue suffering with multiple gunshot wounds.

 

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced John Christopher Rickman dead at the scene.  Paramedics transported Michael Campa to a local area hospital for medical treatment where he is listed in stable but serious condition.    

 

There is no suspect description and no motive at this time.
