***ACCIDENT INVOLVING DEATH ARREST***
On 8/7/2016 at around 23:24 hours, the Northern Ellis Emergency Dispatch (NEED) center received a 9-1-1 call from a resident in the 2600 block of Ovilla road in reference to an accident involving a subject on a bicycle that had just occurred. The caller advised that he had found a subject and a bicycle lying in the ditch and observed two vehicles stopped in the road just east of the accident and then they sped away. Officers arrived on scene and found a fifty three year old male subject suffering from extensive injuries due to the collision. Physical evidence left at the scene led to the identification of the suspect vehicle. The victim was air lifted to Parkland hospital with life threatening injuries. On 8/16/2016, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Albert Isaiash Record of Glenn Heights.
On 8/18/2016, the Red Oak Criminal Investigations Division obtained a warrant of arrest for the suspect believed to be operating the suspect vehicle. On 8/19/2016 at 8:53 AM, the Red Oak Police Department Patrol Division located the suspect and placed the thirty eight year old Red Oak resident under arrest for his alleged involvement in the offense of “Accident Involving Death”. The subject (pictured above) has been identified as Ellis, Stoney Jewell of Red Oak. The hit and run fatality accident claimed the life of Albert Isaiash Record of Glenn Heights. Mr. Ellis is currently being housed at the Red Oak City Jail and is awaiting arraignment on the offense. Anyone with additional information on this case should contact Sgt.
