Lingering shower and thunderstorm activity will diminish somewhat as move through the evening. A relative lull in precipitation will occur late tonight into very early Saturday. However, showers and thunderstorms will become widespread as Saturday proceeds. Some severe thunderstorms are possible, mainly in the afternoon and evening, with the potential for locally damaging winds. Heavy rain will also be seen at times. Much cooler air will enter the region late Saturday night into Sunday, with lake effect rain showers developing in some areas. Windy conditions will be seen at the same time, especially on and near the Great Lakes. Monday will be quiet and somewhat warmer.
