New Castle Man Arrested for Child Molestation

New Castle – An investigation that began in May culminated in the arrest of a New Castle man last evening on a five count felony warrant. Rodney Boyd, age 46 of New Castle, was arrested around 5 p.m. last evening and lodged in the Henry County Jail, with no bond, on five felony charges.

The investigation by Pendleton District Detective Andy Byers began in May, when an adult female victim came forward and disclosed that Boyd had started having inappropriate contact with her when she was a juvenile. The victim alleged the behavior continued until she was an adult.

After Detective Byers completed the investigation, it was turned over to Henry County Prosecutor Joe Bergacs for his review. After his review a five count felony warrant was issued for Boyd charging him with Child Molesting, Class “C” Felony; Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Class “C” Felony; Child Seduction Class “D” Felony and two counts of Child Seduction, Level 6 Felony.
