Fleeing Driver Injured in Single Vehicle Crash
Orange County (French Lick): A Clarksville, IN man was injured after crashing his motorcycle while attempting to evade local police.
Early Saturday morning, French Lick Police observed a Black 2007 Suzuki motorcycle on State Road 145 in French Lick traveling at a high rate of speed, driving left of center, and passing in a no passing zone. Officers pursued the motorcycle for seven miles before it crashed into a guardrail on SR 145 south of County Road 700 South. French Lick officers provided medical attention before emergency personnel arrived. The driver, 36 year old Dustin Fischer, was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY. Fischer was treated for non-life threatening head injuries and broken ribs.
The crash remains under investigation by Indiana State Police, while the pursuit is being investigated by the French Lick Police Department.
