Deputies want you to be aware of IRS Phone scams

INCIDENT: IRS Phone Scams
LOCATION: Barstow, California
SUSPECT(S): Unidentified
SUMMARY: The Barstow Station has received several inquiries and reports regarding suspects posing as United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees. Suspects telephone victims, saying they owe the IRS money. They are aggressive and threaten victims with immediate arrest or court action if they do not pay. They convince victims to create a payment plan and once the victim agrees they get the victim's back account or credit card information. The suspects quickly access the victim's accounts and take all available money.
If you receive a phone call from someone identifying themselves as an IRS employee (suspect's can alter caller ID), do not give out any information and hang up. If you receive an email claiming to be the IRS, do not reply and do not open any attachments or links.
