LAAPOA Statement on the Passing of Airport Police Officer Caj Scott
LOS ANGELES, CA – The following statement is from the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association (LAAPOA) on the passing of Airport Officer Caj Lamoute Scott:
“We offer our sincerest condolences to the family of Officer Caj Scott including his wife Beverly and their four children,” said LAAPOA President Marshall McClain. “Today we lost a member of our Airport Police family, a friend and a respected citizen of the Los Angeles community. We are all deeply saddened by his death and we are rallying around each other as we grieve together as a family. Officer Scott will forever live in the hearts of his LAXPD colleagues and we will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
Officer Scott was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a 16-year veteran of the Los Angeles Airport Police Department. During Scott’s career he was assigned to the patrol services section and worked various assignments including being a member of the Los Angeles Airport Police Honor Guard, a Field Training Officer and Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter at LA/Ontario International Airport.
On Thursday, August 25, Officer Scott lost his long battle with cancer. He was 46-years-old. His wife Beverly and their four children survive him. Funeral services are pending.
