ISP Canine Alerts on Vehicle during Traffic Stop
Vigo County—This evening at approximately 8:00, Indiana State Police Trooper Michael Organ stopped a white 1999 Honda CRV for an expired registration plate on 6th Street just south of Ohio Street. As Trooper Organ approached the vehicle, he noticed criminal indicators. Seconds later, Trooper Ian Portteus and K-9 “Czar” arrived and a positive indication for illegal drugs was given by “Czar”. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately one-quarter pound or more of suspected marijuana and assorted paraphernalia in the glove compartment of the Honda.
Arrested: Logan Tyler Nees, age 19, of Terre Haute, IN.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Paraphernalia
Operating While Intoxicated (Controlled Substance)
A 17-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was cited and released for minor in possession of tobacco products.
Approximate street value of the marijuana is $1000.
The case was investigated by ISP Trooper Michael Organ. Assisting were ISP Trooper Ian Portteus and “Czar”, and Troopers Tim Rader, David Petrowski, and Brad Miller.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
