Man Jailed After Weekend Domestic Dispute Turned Physical

Saint Meinrad: A Spencer County man remains behind bars after a Saturday morning argument became physical.

Around 9:30 A.M. Saturday, the Spencer County Emergency Dispatch received a report of a female who had been severely battered by her boyfriend and was being held against her will in a Saint Meinrad residence.

Troopers Trey Lytton and Ryan Conrad arrived to find a 24 year old female standing outside with a swollen and bloody eye, and bruises on her face, arms and legs. The female told troopers that she had been in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, 26 year old Corey Collignon of Saint Meinrad. Troopers learned that Collignon punched the female in the eye, knocking her to the floor. Collignon then grabbed the female by the wrist and dragged her through the living room, kitchen, and a bedroom before dragging her into another room in the house. Troopers learned that Collignon refused to let the female leave the house by holding her down on the ground and taking her car keys. The female was able to make a phone call for help and waited inside until officers arrived.

Troopers Lytton and Conrad, with Spencer County Deputies Dale Kessinger, Justin Hester and his K-9 partner “Ciro” searched the residence and property but were unable to find Collignon. Deputy Hester began a K-9 track to attempt to find Collignon, later finding him in a field. Collignon attempted to run from officers before being taken into custody.

Collignon was transported to and lodged in the Spencer County Jail on multiple felony charges. Collignon was additionally charged with violating a protective and no contact order placed against him.
