On August 5, 2016 Deputies responded to a residence on Hulsey Branch Road in reference to theft of antique cars. It was determined that the loss exceeded $100,000 in antique cars. During the investigation Jeffrey Stanford and David Mitchell where both arrested in connection to the thefts. The arrest of these two individuals led to multiple search warrants in Limestone County, Alabama and Giles County, TN. In connection to the case, multiple other burglaries where solved and additional arrest where made.
Jeffrey Stanford was charged with multiple counts of theft and being held on $15,000 bond.
Jason Len Brewer was arrested and charged with Theft over $1,000, Theft over $10,000 and burglary. Mr. Brewer is currently incarcerated and is being held on $10,000 bond.
David Roy Mitchell was arrested and charged with Theft over $50,000 and Theft over $1,000. Mr. Mitchell is currently incarcerated and is being held on $5,000 bond.
Mr. Brewer and Mitchell both have pending charges in Limestone County, Alabama.
James Keith Rogers was arrested and charged with Theft over $1,000.
The investigation continues, additional suspects will be presented to next term of Giles County Grand Jury.
Investigators were able to recover approximately eighty percent of the stolen property. Seven burglaries where resolved during the course of the month long investigation. It was a great effort between Investigators from the Giles County Sheriff’s Office and the Limestone County Alabama Sheriff’s Office to bring a resolution to these cases.
