Suspect arrested in robbery at CVS Store in Sonoma
On August 31, 2016 at 7:50 AM, Deputies from the Sonoma Police Department served a warrant in the 300 block of 2nd Street East in the City of Sonoma. They went there in to arrest a robbery suspect and search for evidence. The suspect was 25 year old Maria Victoria Moonan from the Sonoma Valley.
Moonan is the suspect in the robbery at occurred last Sunday morning at the CVS pharmacy in Sonoma. She stole items from the store, but when confronted by store personnel in the parking lot, she became assaultive. The surveillance cameras were operating inside and outside the store. There were witnesses to the crime and one of them tried to help the store employee. The incident was captured on cell phone video. The Moonan’s actions were photographed before she sped away.
We could not identify Moonan or find her car through our conventional sources, so we reached out to the community through social media. We received tips and other information that held lead us to the likely suspect. The Sonoma Police Department is grateful for the assistance of the many people who came forward to help identify Moonan.
Moonan is being held at the Sonoma County Main Jail with bail set at $50,000. She is scheduled to appear before a judge on Friday September 2nd at 1:30pm.
