UPDATE ON TROPICAL STORM HERMINE.

<p>TROPICAL STORM&nbsp;HERMINE &nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>MAYOR AMATO, CHIEF DIMICHELE and&nbsp;</strong>THE OFFICE OF&nbsp;EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT WOULD LIKE TO UPDATE RESIDENTS OwN&nbsp;TROPICAL STORM&nbsp;HERMINE.&nbsp;</p>

<p>-Current forecast in reference to expected hurricane activity off the coast&nbsp;of New Jersey will&nbsp;result in sustained winds between 30 and 40 miles per hour,&nbsp;With gusts up to 50 miles per hour.</p>

<p>-Please take this time to secure any loose items that may be outside,&nbsp;to include patio sets garbage cans&nbsp;etc.</p>

<p>-Also Saturday evening&nbsp;going into Sunday and Monday due to above normal tides and Northeast winds minor flooding may be possible along the coast. &nbsp;Please take all necessary precautions.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>POWER OUTAGES</strong></p>

<p>&nbsp;In the event outages occur, customers without power are encouraged to call&nbsp;<a href="tel:1-888-LIGHTSS">1-888-LIGHTSS</a>&nbsp;(<a href="tel:1-888-544-4877">1-888-544-4877</a>) to report their outage, or click the &ldquo;Report Outage&rdquo; link on&nbsp;www.firstenergycorp.com. &nbsp;In the event of severe weather, customers should immediately report downed wires to their utility, or call Berkeley Police: <a href="tel:732-341-6600">732-341-6600</a> &nbsp;</p>

<p>Residents should stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity. &nbsp;Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris. &nbsp;Motorists are cautioned to treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.</p>

<p>Berkeley Township Parks and Beaches are ready to deal with any downed trees on roadways.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They were out this morning inspecting our dunes which are in good shape. &nbsp;All equipment is ready and in place.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Department of Streets and Roads are out today cleaning around storm drains and making sure they clear.&nbsp;</p>
