<p>*** SCAM REPORTS ***</p>

<p>We received 2 different scam reports in town today. The first involved the Microsoft service scam. A male subject with a thick accent called and wanted the recipient to follow some instructions to &quot;fix&quot; the issue. The recipient recognized the scam and did not fall for it.</p>

<p>The other scam invovled a Sanbornton lakefront property was listed for rent on Craigslist. The potential victim answered an ad to rent the property and was given some suspicous informati...on. The renter&#39;s phone number had a New York area code and would not meet the possible victim at the site. The target was told to wire money to the property &quot;owner.&quot; The potential victim recognized the scam and did not fall victim.</p>
