Six Injured in I-69 Crash
Delaware County-On Saturday September 3, 2016, around 11:40 a.m., Troopers responded to the area of I-69 northbound around the 245 mile marker for a three vehicle crash. When they arrived they found a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta on the left shoulder facing southbound, a 2016 Subaru Forester which had rolled onto it's side in the middle of the road, and a 2006 Toyota Highlander in the right lane.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Eric Perkins indicates the 2016 Subaru Forester, driven by Cameron McKee, age 28, of Wingate, IN and also the 2006 Toyota Highlander, driven by Thomas Seal, age 67, of Ingalls, IN were both stopped in traffic due to another crash just north of them on I-69. The 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Abigail Stover, age 28, of Indianapolis, IN was northbound in the left lane of I-69 and did not notice traffic had stopped until it was too late, striking the 2016 Subaru Forester, which was then pushed into the 2006 Toyota Highlander.
Abigail Stover and a minor in her car were treated at the scene by EMS, but refused any further treatment or transport. One passenger that was riding with Ms. Stover was transported to IU Health's Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN with non life threatening injuries. There were also three minor children that were traveling in the 2016 Subary Forester that were transported to IU Health's Ball Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries.
Trooper Perkins was assisted at the scene by Delaware County EMS; Harrison Township Fire; and Delaware County Sheriff's Deartment.
