*Updated-Suspect Arrested* LASD, South Los Angeles Station Traffic Investigator Arrests Hit and Run Suspect.
South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station Traffic Investigator Deputy Tim Crise has arrested Kevin Castello, a 19 year old La Mirada resident for the hit and run incident which occurred on Monday, August 15, 2016 in the city of Lawndale.
Deputy Crise was able to obtain the entire license plate number of the vehicle the suspect was driving with the cooperation of the driver service “Uber.” Deputy Crise’s investigation lead him to a residence in the 15400 block of Calverton Drive, La Mirada where the vehicle was located. The suspect was taken into custody as he left his La Mirada residence.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station where he was booked for felony hit and run. The suspect is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station Traffic Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying a hit and run driver that injured three pedestrians.
On Monday, August 15, 2016, at approximately 6:30 p.m. a black vehicle was traveling westbound on 149th Street at Grevillea Avenue, Lawndale, when the male driver struck three pedestrians. The driver left the scene without stopping. The vehicle is described as a 2010-2015 black 4 door Ford Taurus, with a possible partial license plate number of "6RM." The vehicle also had an "Uber" decal in the window.
A second vehicle, described as a white 2 door Cadillac "CTS" model, appeared to chase after the suspect’s vehicle. Both vehicles were last seen southbound on Grevillea Avenue and out of view.
The three pedestrians are:
Female, Hispanic, 57 years old, (Mother)
Female, Hispanic, 17 year old, (Autistic daughter)
Female, Hispanic, 3 year old, (Granddaughter)
All three pedestrians suffered serious injuries that required medical treatment.
