City of Chula Vista's Water Stewardship Plan

The Office of Sustainability has an important message for the community!

The City of Chula Vista and the San Diego Foundation joined efforts to secure a grant from Partners for Places, a grant program that creates opportunities to improve communities by building partnerships between local government sustainability offices and place-based foundations. This grant helped create a formal Water Stewardship Plan draft to guide the City’s expansion of water reuse and conservation efforts. This will build upon statewide action, community desire, City Council support and existing work of key agencies to jumpstart the analysis needed to implement successful and sustainable water stewardship solutions.

This draft was initially developed by a stakeholder group of City and water agency personnel, local business leaders and community representatives who offered many water saving ideas in residential, commercial settings and public facilities. The next phase of this project is for you, the Chula Vista community to review and comment on this prepared draft.
