A citizen received a letter and check for $2300  through priority mail, advising that they are a survey participant, evaluating Wal-Mart and Western Union.  The letter advises to deposit the check, deduct $200 as compensation, make a purcase at a Wal-Mart, and eventually you're to send a fixed amount of $2,000 to another panelist conducting a similar survey.  Residents are advised not to deposit the check or send any funds as this is a common mail scam.  For additional information, please visit https://www.fbi.gov/scams-and-safety/common-fraud-schemes.
