The NWS in Albuquerque has issued a urban and small stream flood advisory for Central Bernalillo County in Central New Mexico until 545 pm

At 420 pm mdt National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms across Albuquerque with the heaviest rain across the south valley. In addition to small hail a quick inch of rain is possible as these storms move through. This will create minor flooding across many Albuquerque roadways and drainage channels will see an increase of water flow.
Locations impacted include Albuquerque, South Valley, North Valley and Pajarito.

This includes the following highways Interstate 40 between mile markers 146 and 164.
Interstate 25 between mile markers 213 and 229.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Remember ditches are deadly. A gentle flow of water can become a raging torrent in a matter of minutes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. #NMWX
