DATE/TIME: 09/15/2016/ 2:30 pm

INCIDENT: Felony Warrant Arrest Leads to Arrest for Possession of Counterfeit Money

LOCATION: 700 Block of Elysian Blvd. Big Bear City

SUSPECT(S): William Marsh 43- year old white male adult

VICTIM(S): People of the State of California

SUMMARY: Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on September 15, 2016, LASD Parole Apprehension Team contacted the Big Bear Sheriff Station and advised of a wanted person possibly living in the Big Bear area. William Marsh was wanted for Assembly Bill 109 (AB109) State Parole violations and had a No Bail Warrant for his arrest from the Probation Department. Marsh was in violation of his conditions of release by failing to report since December 2015. As a part of Governor Jerry Brown's 2011 Realignment Plan (AB109), in order to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court decision requiring the State of California to lower its prison population by 30,000 inmates, offenders with non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions serve reduced sentences in county jails and are then placed on local supervision through the County's Probation department after being released.

Marsh was contacted at his family's residence and arrested. During a search of Marsh's home, deputies located a large quantity of counterfeit money along with equipment used for the counterfeit manufacturing. Marsh was arrested for Possession of Counterfeit Money and his felony warrant and remains in custody in lieu of bail. His arraignment hearing is set for September 19, 2016, at the San Bernardino County Superior Court.

Investigators are seeking information from anyone who may have had financial transactions with William Marsh.

Anyone having further information on this matter is requested to contact the Detectives Bureau of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station at (909) 866-0100. Information can also be reported anonymously by calling WE-TIP at 1 (800) 78-CRIME or online at www.wetip.com.
