Tippecanoe County-Today at approximately 10:05 a.m. on US 52 east near CR 550 south (that is about two miles south of Veterans Memorial Parkway intersection), a Trooper was on traffic patrol when a pickup truck passed him speeding and took off when the trooper attempted to stop him.

Master Trooper Aaron McCormick was in full uniform driving his unmarked Ford Mustang patrol vehicle when a white 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck passed him doing 70 miles per hour in a 60 zone. When McCormick attempted to stop the pickup, it took off and McCormick continued to follow the pickup. It turned right onto CR 550 south and continued at a high rate of speed. The pickup turned north on CR 550 east and then stopped the truck and bailed out into a corn field and ran.
