<p>PHONE SCAMMERS POSING AS SHERIFF&#39;S PERSONNEL</p>

<p>The public is advised to be aware of a phone scam where callers represent to be Santa Fe County Sheriff&#39;s personnel.</p>

<p>The Santa Fe County Sheriff&#39; Office would like to notify the public of a phone scam that demands payment to settle an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear for court or ury duty.</p>

<p>Criminals are calling individuals and identifying themselves as law enforcement personnel with the Santa Fe County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office.</p>

<p>The caller will instruct the victim to send money to pay the fine and get the warrant dismissed. Callers are told if they don&#39;t pay a fine a deputy will be sent to arrest them. &ldquo;Under no circumstance, whatsoever, will the Sheriff&rsquo;s Office or any Law Enforcement agency take payment over the phone or ask for money,&rdquo; said Santa Fe County Sheriff Robert A. Garcia.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The phone scam criminals are identifying themselves as individuals with the Santa Fe County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office.</p>

<p>Beware that scammers may use various phone numbers to make these calls.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Santa Fe County Sheriff&#39;s Office reminds the public not to become a victim and not to provide any personal information, bank information or provide payment over the phone if they are called by these criminals.</p>
