Two Arrested in New Castle
New Castle – A New Castle man and woman were arrested yesterday after the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Team, along with members of the Henry County Drug Task Force, served a search warrant just before 1 p.m. on the home located at 126 N. 23rd St. in New Castle. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation by the Meth Suppression Team into the manufacture and possession of Methamphetamine.
As a result of that search warrant Tonya Asbury, age 41, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, both Level 6 felony charges. Located a few blocks from the home and also arrested was Nicholas Martin, age 33 and of the same address, charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, all Level 6 felony charges.
Asbury and Martin were lodged in the Henry County Jail. Division of Child Services were also called to the scene and a child, belonging to Asbury and under the age of 6, was removed from the home. The Meth Suppression Team was assisted in their investigation by Henry County Prosecutor Joe Bergacs, Pendleton District Troopers, the New Castle Police Department and Indiana State Parole.
